Station Safety Program
The Station Safety Team (SST) will meet bi-weekly and jointly to:
- Conduct weekly safety talks
- Conduct daily station safety inspections (10 min. a day)
- Develop a simple safety reward/ incentive program for station
- Maintain a Safety Bulletin Board
- Review root causes of station safety issues, accidents/hazards
- Yearly inspections for each carrier unit
- Conduct a thorough review of any accident/ safety violation before discipline is considered by station management.
- This shall in no way abrogate the right of management to issue discipline or the union’s right to grieve it.
- Submit quarterly reports to City Safety committee recording safety talks and accident/ health and safety reviews
The names of carriers and management participating in their Station Safety Team will be submitted to the City Safety Team for review.
The City Safety Team (CST) will meet monthly and will consist of the Branch President and the Postmaster and/ or more than two (2) designees who will participate on their behalf.
The Branch President and the Postmaster reserve the right to approve or reject individual Station Safety Team members.
